After 60 day training period role will go Hybrid Schedule
Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:30pm
The responsibilities of the Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Coordinator require exceptional attention to detail as well as working knowledge of laboratory processes and procedures. The QA Coordinator will have a thorough understanding of the company’s quality assurance and quality improvement policies and procedures to assist, and support company projects and activities related to quality assurance, quality improvement, and safety. This position requires experience with the Microsoft Office Suite products.  The position is required to adhere to HIPAA, CAP, CLIA, PCI, OSHA, RCRA and other regulatory agencies as they relate to the duties.

Employees are responsible for following all company policies and procedures.  These policies and procedures will include adherence to all regulatory and safety standards in performing all aspects of the functions below.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Assists with maintaining Quality Management Systems for compliance with regulatory and company requirements to include compilation of a monthly QA report.
  2. Assists with collecting and collating pathologist QA data and reports.
  3. Coordinates continuing education and PIP programs for Pathologists and the laboratory.
  4. Maintain the daily QA system for Pathologist QA.
  5. Perform weekly and monthly safety and waste inspections as required.
  6. Effectively assists with quality monitoring and evaluation of processes to include report design, graphical display and analytical interpretation as needed.
  7. Cooperates with the laboratory leadership team and other management teams to enable timely communication and review of reports.
  8. Assists with maintaining laboratory regulatory requirements to include assistance with CAP inspection preparation.
  9. Assists with review and updating policies and procedures related to quality assurance and safety.
  10. Coordinates proficiency testing enrollment.
  11. Ensures timely distribution of proficiency reports and monitors ongoing performance.
  12. Assists with annual review of laboratory quality plans and measures to maximize performance improvement and error reduction processes.
  13. Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
  14. Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
  15. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and the ability to self-direct.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

  1. Must be able to work with Administrative and Professional staff.
  2. Must be able to work independently.
  3. Must be able to perform duties requiring manual dexterity for handling blocks/slides.
  4. Must be able to work in a laboratory setting.

  3. Software programs for Virtual Meetings (Skype, Zoom, Teams, etc.)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, analytical, or related field preferred. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of two (2) years of experience in quality assurance or safety role is required.
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
· Laboratory experience preferred.
· Experience with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, or other laboratory regulatory requirements preferred.
· Experience with quality management systems and performance improvement programs preferred.
· Knowledge of incident reporting, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and process improvement methodologies preferred.
· Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations preferred.
· Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills preferred.
